I’ve known for as long as I can remember that I wanted to be a therapist. My journey officially began with my education at North Texas University, where I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology. I moved to Austin, Texas, to attend St. Edward’s University, where I completed a dual-track Master’s program in Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy.
Upon graduation, I successfully passed licensing exams for both an LMFT and LPC license. Although I chose not to continue pursuing an LMFT license, the rigorous education and clinical hours provided me with a comprehensive understanding of healthy family functioning and the dynamics that can improve or hinder family relationships. In addition, I have a background of over seven years in professional childcare while completing my education, which enriches my perspective and approach to therapy.
My approach to therapy is grounded in empathy, understanding, and a commitment to helping my clients navigate their challenges. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). Additionally, I have received training in Advanced EMDR protocols, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Attachment Therapy, and Play Therapy. I also like to incorporate mindfulness-based practices in my treatment. I am active in continuing my education and continue to seek knowledge and training in trauma-informed approaches to healing.
I specialize in recovering from trauma-related issues such as intimate partner violence, childhood abuse/neglect, or sexual abuse. I also support individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, issues with self-esteem, family of origin conflict, and difficult life transitions. Currently, I work with adolescents and adults and welcome people of all backgrounds. I offer both Telehealth and in-person appointments.
When I'm not working with clients, I enjoy yoga, cooking, and playing with my Goldendoodle, Luca. My ultimate goal is to create a therapeutic environment where everyone feels heard, valued, and empowered to make positive changes in their lives.
